Interesting - I just checked the page at work and I'm actually getting slightly different output from FF 2.0.0.3 on FC6 compared to at home (which I think is FF 2.0.0.3 on FC6) biggrin.gif I'll have to investigate what the oddities are there.

Because then it wouldn't be CSS and HTML for the people who don't want their website to have a delay for loading a required image wink.gif Granted it's less of a problem with the proliferation of broadband, but some people may still want to keep text such as "ASO Powered" as text. Also, images don't scale where as the (X)HTML/CSS ones I made will scale with font size (even the padding)

I worked out what the difference was for the top button, though: At home I've got my Windows fonts included in my FC install so it can properly use Arial. At work it's dropping back to 'sans-serif', which must have a different character height or something.

You cannot put a CSS button in forum signatures, etc.

I think that depends on the signature settings/policies of the forum.

If you set up the CSS code for the button to be completely self-contained, so that it doesn't have to have a separate stylesheet linked, then any place that allows html/css to be posted should display it properly.

Also, if you read the original post it says:

QUOTE
What do we need? Buttons! In particular, those little web badges that people use all over the place (Example).

and that example link is Apples badges for putting on your website. Signatures tend not to be the place to put "powered by" unless you want something silly like "powered by caffeine" biggrin.gif

Also:

QUOTE
There are no restrictions on color scheme or background colors, but these will need to integrate into all kinds of websites, so they should be flexible

I'm just going for the extra-flexible side of flexible - don't think the colour matches? change it in the CSS  and you don't need to have access to the PSD smile.gif You can even have a single orange image and then change the background colour depending on what page it is on within your site, rather than having an image per colour scheme. Or you can change the site scheme and not worry about whether you kept the PSD. There's no flexibility quite like HTML and CSS smile.gif

Careful with that last one. There are a number of companies etc using that name and even oranges as logos.

I rather like Grumpy_Polecat's one http://forums.asmallorange.com/index.php?s...ost&p=63747
but the word above "powered" is hard to read (I think it's "range" but that took a bit of contemplation). smile.gif

The word is 'range', the orange is then forming the O to make 'orange' wink.gif It is a little fuzzy, though.

They need to be images because I do this:

CODE
    $('#buttons img').click(function(){
        $('#button_image').val( $(this).attr('src') );
        $('#button_preview').attr( 'src', $(this).attr('src') );
    });

Yeah, I just tried a few different slogans

Do you think they might need a 1px border?

What? No page of HTML for people to insert that'll let them use nice, clean, HTML and CSS versions? And after you had such a nice clean design on the main ASO pages as well biggrin.gif Maybe I'll just do my own little unofficial page of them wink.gif

Since I'm not allowed to enter scalable CSS/HTML buttons and most (if not all) browsers don't support SVG in an <img> tag then I've done some image versions (available on my button page, These are just screenshoted, cropped and cleaned up versions of the CSS.

- that's what the CSS should have looked like but didn't at work.

Hey,

Cool contest. Hope I'm not too late. I design logos and stuff like this.

Here's a sample:

These will obviously be converted into a transparent gif or png.

If you'd like anything changed feel free to ask.
