Alternatives to Go Daddy

I have been using Go Daddy as my domain registrar for about a year now, but after registering a new domain yesterday I have to say it was a thoroughly painful process. I was constantly bombarded with offers of adding all sorts of stuff to my domain purchase. I was a little annoyed to find that once I got to the payment screen it had changed the period of registration from 1 year to 2. I had to start the process again.
What I'm after is a registrar that is simple, doesn't try to bombard me with upselling. I don't mind paying a little extra. Suggestions?
I wish ASO did domains.

You might want to give http://active-domain.com/ a look.

I also use GoDaddy, and have no problems. It's pretty easy to bulk update domain entries, and it's easy to see what doamins you have, etc. And yeah they have promos, but like Nightclubber says, moving past them is easy.

Used to use GoDaddy for the longest time, just last week I transfered a few domains over to NameCheap which were about to expire, and I must say I love NameCheap!
Transfers are lightning fast, it took 1 day! That's it! With GoDaddy it takes around a week for transfers to be processed.
The interface is very easy to use, much better and intuitive than GoDaddy's.
Paypal! You can add funds to your account via paypal, which is so nice for those of us who don't have a credit card. It's nice to have a pot of funds therefore when they are set to auto-renew they just renew from the funds already there.
NameCheap gets a 10/10 from me!
