These forums used to be a great place for us techies to hang out as the majority of threads were tech related, simple ask a question get an answer type stuff, which is exactly what you want at your web host's forums. Sure there is the chatter box and occasionally semi-related stuff would be discussed there but these days it seems more and more of the threads are about silly, unrelated topics or on-topic threads end up with silly arguments or name calling.

So can we all please make an effort to cut out the crap and get back on topic?

William, would you grow up? I have made a decent effort to be nice to you, but, irregardless of your age, you need to grow up.

Jason, I will do my best to cut out most of my non-relevant posting because I agree with you. At this point this community is not very ideal. I guess the first place I will try to improve is not replying to people's unrequested opinions. smile.gif

That's like saying "Everyone has freedom of speech, so let me come into your house and speak", (well, sort of).

If the speech is relervent yes, but if it is spamming or just been a pain then that is just a pain.

He made his point, Jason made his.

I for one, think that William should be unbanned (In a week or two), and just be told to stop pissing peple off.

This will alow everyone (Matt Light....Just saying, you realy do like flaming William...) to calm down and get off William's back.

So you are arguing with Tim's decision? I am not sure I would tread to far into that water. The bottom line is that William has been a pain since day one and it was only a matter of time before something happened.

And no... there were not any rights violated here.

Edit:

Umm... what? You mean I like giving him a hard time? I think I had more than enough patience with him.

The land is free, the internet isn't. As the site owner, Tim can do anything on his private board. Nor is the internet under the sole jurisdiction of the US.

I think we all need to remember that we are guests of this forum, we don't own it. Tim is the man who does and as such, as the chap who pays for it, maintains it, moderates it etc, if he deems that posts are unsavoury enough to merit a ban, then that's his choice and his right.

Just my humble opinion as a forum owner myself!! smile.gif

But ASO is US company

and they are free to dictate the level of acceptable behaviour on their support forums, aren't they? McDonalds can refuse to serve you, can't they?
