Ok, I have posted something similar before, however I realise that the high server loads I experienced occasionally is not connected to the ftp speed problem I get all of the time.

I am getting seriously slow ftp speeds. they are really creating a problem with my site management.

I have created a support ticket, however asmallorange tell me that there isn't a problem and refered me to my ISP.
my ISP assures me there isn't a problem, and I can confirm that I can use ftp servers run by hosting companies with no problem at all, and very fast upload speeds.

I really need help to solve this problem.

I believe aso, that theres not much wrong there end.
I believe pipex my isp that theres not much wrong there end too.

So what could the problem be?

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

First thing I would recommend is running a traceroute (search the forums if you haven't done that before and need instructions) while your FTP is slow. It's possible the problem isn't your ISP or ASO, but the traffic between the two.

If you post that, tell us, too, which FTP client you are using, just in case anyone here is using that program and knows of any hiccups with it. Ensure you're using passive mode (sometimes listed as PASV).

I use WS_FTP for my ftp software.

I ran this tracert and then tested the FTP speed again. Initially on a large upload of several files, the transfer rate rose to 7 KB/s then creeps down and is now on 0.67 KBps and still decreasing.
by recent standards this is a good day as its normally lower than this by now.

i'm in the uk and i max out my upload on omicron. it's unlikely it's a distance thing

Can you perform another trace route? I'm curious about why the initial connection in your trace route timed out.

An initial connection timing out with 3 stars doesn't mean anything except that the very first hop doesn't report back. It's a fairly common thing. My 2nd hop (the cable modem, itself), always shows that.

Where are these other servers based? I max out as well at 30K/B's on your server and on mine (Hurley).

If you want you could try uploading to mine. If it works maybe ASO could move you.
