I think it's a bit problematic if no upgrades will be possible though, especially for the bandwidth. If you worked out some kind of a system that would allow for upgrades it might have a bit more of an appeal.

Very tempting, but right now I'm trying to save up for a new car (as a birthday present from me to me

Well, I suppose you can upgrade from the Lifetime Small to the Lifetime Medium, if you'd like. And I figure bandwidth addons for a month should be possible. Actually, I'll add that in now...

Lifetime anything is rarely "lifetime". Think of the "lifetime guarantees" sold with many infomercial products. Whose lifetime? Yours? Tim's? ASmallOrange's? What happens if Tim gets hit by the proverbial truck? Will his successor honor lifetime plans? What happens if Tim shuts down ASO? What happens if Tim sells ASO to another company--will they honor the lifetime plans?
That said, I still want a lifetime plan myself because I don't think any of these things are particularly likely in the next 30 months

Lifetime of the company is implied, but I suppose I'll say that explictly, too. However in either my, the company's, or your case, the remaining time left in each lifetime is at least beyond the 2.5 year mark (I would hope).

I was figuring something like an "ASO4EVA!" badge.
That makes it so tempting.....

Because I would be selling shares of me. ASO is a Sole Propreitorship. I am, in essence, the company. That makes me fully responsible for what happens to it (good or bad).
Eesh. I'm no lawyer, but with the capital outlays it sounds as if you're making, I'd consider an LLC. I hear it's fairly easy and inexpensive to set up, and I'm pretty sure that means if you go bankrupt they don't take your house.

Exactly. I'm 100% responsible for the company, good or bad.

So I guess the procedure is to ask for a refund, then re-sign up with the lifetime option?
There doesn't seem to be any way to do that through modern bill. I guess I will e-mail support.
I had a lifetime hosting account with an ISP in the mid-90's. The deal disappeared after the phone company bought them up. Not much you can do about that. So I'll just be optimistic and figure this will pay for itself and then some. A lot can happen in just a couple of years in cyberspace. (See, I used a mid-90's word that nobody even says anymore.

Yep, that's something billing has to do. You can just place an order for the lifetime account and we can take care of the rest. Submitting a support ticket actually shouldn't be neccessary
