Name: Jon

Age: 20

Job: About to start college for the second time for a Software Engineering degree. The first time around was a game programming degree at a private college in Seattle(Digipen), but I had to drop out for health/financial reasons. Going to a cheaper, local college this time.

It's a pretty amazing coincidence that I ended up hosting a site called citrusgames.com on A Small Orange, and my long-time internet name is Lemony Lime. Citrus league unite! (No, I didn't pick ASO because of the name, I spent a good 5 hours researching different hosts, and ended up choosing between this and Hostgator. Picked ASO because I currently have a user base of a whopping Zero, and it's cheaper for the tiny package.)

Good choice, Lemony Lime. The other important distinction is that at ASO you get what you pay for (what you see as package limits is what you're allowed to use) where as at companies like HostGator then you get what you pay for (what you get for your "unlimited" is a slow, overloaded server that doesn't perform well and is supported by overworked techs who don't give real answers to real customers).
The more information you provide, the better answer the community can give.

Name: Yang Yang

Age: 28

Job: I'm a Chinese living in China. I don't have an official job title but I run my own company. I have been building websites since 2006 and it's been a great experience. I love building stuff (products, websites, applications, etc.) that's beautiful and useful and that people are willing to pay for, just like A Small Orange. In the spare time, I play piano and basketball.

A bit of complaint here that my credit card was billed $300 while I actually saw a $255 price as I used a coupon code to bring 15% off.

The 1st time I tried to sign up & pay I didn't get through the fraud test as I was connected to asmallorange.com via an VPN with an IP in US when I'm paying with my China credit card. The 2nd time I signed in with my email because it's already registered in the system (I can't use it to submit an order as a new customer any more), and then tried to order the 1024MB cloud plan once again. My guess is the discount didn't work for me was because I'm not a *NEW* customer any more as I already have an email in your system?

Just submitted a ticket to the billing department. Hopefully someone would get back to me and issue me a partial refund, or it's really frustrating.
Submit your customer reviews for A Small Orange.
