Hi guys,

Just recently bought a hosting plan with ASO and am currently looking for inspirations for my new site. Having said that, I thought it will be great if we can all share our web design resources. I have been attempting to compile a list of good web design resources for some time now but I realize its not easy to find one that's really good. I believe this will be really helpful to anyone who is looking to create a good looking website.

Let me start off...
  • Creattica - Contains tons of designs from html/css all the way to posters and T-shirts. Good place for inspiration
  • Smashing Magazine - Contains useful tutorials and tips to create great and interactive UI
  • Web Interface Lab - Have some free html/css snippets for web UI

It has been ages since I looked at HTML and web design (mainly because 90% of it ends up being "how to change one line in Wordpress" or "how to use ugly effects unnecessarily because they're considered cool"), but the quality reference sites I used to trust were places like A List Apart for general articles or CSS Zen Garden for examples of how a well structured page could be extensively overhauled with some clever CSS (although it is probably old hat now as it was CSS2).

Unfortunately, I recently cleared out my bookmarks, so I can't think of much more than that at the moment.
The more information you provide, the better answer the community can give.

I think that's actually a good idea that we are going to have a resources exchange at least to give the others too especially the beginners to learn deeper from web designing too.  Actually, I am from Montreal, Canada so that is why I do have plenty of web design in montreal projects. All for local and i promise that everything that I learn and resources that I have, I will share it to you.

May I suggest, especially for a site designer, that having your site entirely in Flash and Javascript with no way to view it in plain X/HTML is poor design at best.

I mainly prefer Joomla. It is great Content Management System and it provides a powerful and extensible templates, better user access control, content approval, improved administrative control etc.

I've created several resources for web designers to use on their own websites. Most of my resources are licensed under a Creative Commons license.
