My images are not showing up, not background images, not titles. I've crawled through my code, xhtml and css both, many times. I've even taken the site down and uploaded it again.  At one point I moved images to the main folder and changed to path in the coding.  I even redid the page as html instead of xhtml.  Still no images.  The site looks great when I use the view feature on Cpanel.  It just doesn't seem to ;work on the internet.  I used IE9 and Chrome to check it.

Any hints would be appreciated; I've never had a problem like this.  I'll be happy to post any code you think might be the problem. BTW, I'm just a hobbiest and self taught so be gentle!  LOL

When I try to visit an image directly, such as this one, I get a 403 Forbidden error. Something is blocking access to images in your imgs directory. (Interestingly enough, the index appears fine.)

If you submit a ticket to ASO, the techs will likely be able to figure out the problem faster, just because they can take a look at your account and see where the source of the problem might be.

I would usually start by looking at the .htaccess file, because it tends to control these types of permissions. Were you fiddling around with preventing hotlinking, either manually or using the CPanel features?
My personal website is nothing special; it's got a blog on it if you're bored and want something to read.  I also frequent Twitter and Goodreads.

Not showing up here either, and while the directoryn listing of you images can be seen (should fix that) the images return 403 so Tachyon probably hit the nail on the head that you have blocked access to images in htaccess.

It might also be worth you checking the file permissions of the image files directly. I've had this problem a few times recently and have discovered that images I've uploaded have had their file permissions set to 0600 - which means they can't be read and this error comes up. If you use your FTP client to check them and set them to 0644 then that might be enough to fix it.

They're working now. What was the problem? Was it just a slightly mis-configured anti-hotlinking rule?

Okay!!  Yes, everything is now working!  The problem seemed to be an htacess that may have been left behind - possibly to prevent hotlinking, I don'[t know. Tech support found/fixed it, for which I am overwhelming grateful!!  Thank you all so much - first time on the forum and support and I am very pleased with both!!
