I'm trying to ssh in to my account on a shared server. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I'm not sure whether the issue is my local network config, or whether there are limits set up on the ASO side.
For example, is there a limit to the number of connections? I usually ssh in two or three times to work on things in different windows.

As far as I know the only limitation on SSH is that you can't use it for tunneling. I have had several sessions open at once without issue.
Obsolescence is just a lack of imagination.

I'm not aware of any limits either.

Have you tried repeatedly running traceroute? I've had times when someone (normally Layer 3) in New York is dropping my trans-Atlantic traffic or letting it time out.

The other option is something like tmux or screen - you end up with one SSH session, but multiple sessions within that session. Obviously, that doesn't help as much if your first connection sometimes times out.
The more information you provide, the better answer the community can give.

SSH can also appear to stall when the server is under high load. You can check the under cPanel, of course if cPanel is loading relatively slow too, then it's probably just high load.

Hi, thanks for the answers!

I've tried different network connections, and it looks like it was mainly a network issue on my end. I can now connect reliably.

It does look like the session is being cut after 10 minutes or so, but I can cope with that. (I have `ServerAliveInterval 120` set, but that doesn't help.)

Thanks again.
