I am looking to signup to either a VPS or Cloud account and have a few questions...
1) Which is better suited for reselling purposes?
2) Does the Cloud allow me to have full control over the server (root access) just like a normal VPS account would?
3) The VPS plans (apart from the developer plan) advertises management included. Does this mean it includes whm/cpanel? What else does this encompass? For example would I be required to setup Apache/MySQL/PHP and configure them myself? What about securing the server such as setting up firewall rules etc? What about updating software?
4) Similar to the last question but this time with the Cloud plans. The website advertises Fully Managed Systems on Cloud plans with 768MB RAM or greater. What does this include?

Generally speaking, managed servers include the basic software installations (Apache, MySQL, PHP, and more) and configurations such as for security. You should be up and running without too much effort on your part. Managed servers generally include updates performed by support as well. You focus on building your sites and support focuses managing the server.
As for reselling, I looked over the packages and did not see anything mentioned about reselling on the Cloud plans. Reselling is mentioned on the VPS plans. From the ASO sales information:
I'm sure someone from support could provide further clarification. Maybe it isn't possible to resell on the Cloud package? I don't know. You can resell on VPS, that much is certain.
The VPS plans larger than the smallest Developer plan do include cPanel and WHM. So that answers your question about that. You will have it.

Thanks for the info! I contacted support regarding reselling on Cloud plans and yes it is supported and actually recommended as the best way of reselling. I will be sure to use your discounts when I do signup in the next month or two.

Thanks. It would be helpful if ASO put that information about reselling on the Cloud information page because if you have that question, I'm sure others do, too. Thanks for clearing that up for us and others who might be wondering.
