Have you contacted ASO with a support ticket? It may be that you've had too many login failures and so the ASO systems have temporarily blocked you as a security precaution, or it might be that your IP address was currently leased to a spammer or similar who got on a blacklist. Either way, a support ticket will be the quickest way to resolve it.
In the mean time, try logging in to cPanel an using the "File Manager". It is web-based, so mass uploading is slow, but I think you might be able to zip it, upload one zip, and then use File Manager to extract that zip in-place on the server.

Still trying to get in contact with Support to open a ticket (password issues...) but I was able to upload the ZIP file to the public/html folder with File Manager.
I was reading a PDF tutorial previously mentioned on this thread for uploading a website, and it said that the temporary address for our site (until we change the nameservers to point here) is http://www.servernam...e.com/~username
I took the server name from the welcome e-mail that we received and plugged it into the above address with our user name, and nothing is coming up.
Any more thoughts about what else I should try until I get in contact with support?
Thanks so much!
Shanna

I believe those addresses no longer work as they were bypassing the bandwidth count, I'm afraid! I'm 99% sure that you can contact support directly by e-mailing support@asmallorange.com as well as through the ticket system.

Thanks for the support e-mail. I have been trying to submit a ticket through Cpanel but keep getting error messages.

My personal website is nothing special; it's got a blog on it if you're bored and want something to read. I also frequent Twitter and Goodreads.

The "~username" addresses were disabled because of bandwidth abuse. It is a shame, because it was quite useful when first setting up a site, but the alternative is to just put the server's IP address in your "hosts" file to map your domain to the new server *just* for the machine you're on (so everyone else doesn't see a change until you go live and change your NS records).
For those who want to try that method, open your hosts file (locations) and add the line:

ser.ver.ip.addr example.comwhere "ser.ver.ip.addr" is the IP of your ASO server (ping the server to get the IP if it isn't in the email - I can't remember if it is or not!) and "example.com" is your domain. Just remember to take it out when you're done or years down the line you'll end up on a newer server with a new IP and wonder why it all suddenly broke for you
