Joomla seems to be ignoring my menu item parameters on the category blog layout (leading, intro, columns and links). It just sticks to a 2-column set of intros and 1 leading article. You can see the problem here (see attachment for what settings I'm using on this page):

I just want a basic 1-column set of article intros. Basically changing the parameters doesn't make any difference to the front end. I've tried different templates, clearing the cache, etc. I've even tried reinstalling Joomla entirely. Any ideas?

Also, is it possible to manually install Joomla on ASO?

Yes, it is possible to manually install Joomla and it is quite easy.  They have instructions on their site.  Basically, create a database (the name of the database will probably be your-account-name_name-of-database), then run the installation script in Joomla.  It will ask you which database you want to use and your username and password.

As for for your column issue, you will have to play with it to get it to work right.  Joomla is not as intuitive to use as many would like.  After I get some sleep, I'll play around with my Joomla installation and hopefully be able to help you more.  Unless someone beats me to it.  Anyone?
