Dear subscribername,
As you may already know, we have recently migrated from our old billing system (Modernbill) to a new customer portal. (WHMCS)

This migration has allowed us to provide much more flexibility and customization on the frontend of the site, and has given us much more freedom on the backend to provide features that were previously unavailable.

During the migration processed, we attempt to plan for every contingency to avoid any issues that may arise, and provide seamless transition for our customers. Unfortunately, there were a couple small things that slipped through the cracks that we believe you need to be made aware of.

Passwords
The first, and probably most important thing is, the passwords from the old billing system did not migrate over properly. The process should have worked, as they both store the passwords in a similar fashion, unfortunately by the time we noticed this was not the case, the new system had already gone live and there was no going back.

Fortunately it is fairly easy to reset your password, and we are requesting that all customers do this at your earliest convenience. If you have already logged into the new customer portal after the migration, there is no need to perform the reset.

To reset your password, please go to https://customers.as...com/pwreset.php and enter the email address that you have on file with us. This would have been the same email address you have used in the past to login to the old billing system. If you have any problems with this, please email us at billing@asmallorange.com so that we can investigate the issue.

Security Questions
The second issue is with security questions. We use security questions to verify your identity when making major account changes. Unfortunately, WHMCS handles security questions differently than Modernbill. In Modernbill, you were able to enter your own security question and answer. Within WHMCS, we have some predefined security questions that you must answer. It is extremely important that you have this information set so that we can quickly verify your identity should you need any major account modifications.

To reset your password, please go https://customers.asmallorange.com/ and select "Client Area." You will be prompted to login at this time if you have not already done so. Once you have logged in, you will notice a box with your name, address, and email address is it. Click the link below this that says "Update Your Details." After clicking this link, on the right hand side, you will want to click a link that says “Change Security Question." Fill out the applicable information, and click the "Save Changes" button. That’s it!

New Procedures
We have a couple new procedures when it comes to managing your account due to the increase in flexibility of WHMCS.

The first being account cancellations. As much as we hate to see you leave, we do know that some circumstances are unavoidable and account cancellations do happen. We have now made it easier than ever to cancel your A Small Orange account. To cancel your account with us, login to https://customers.asmallorange.com and select "Client Area," then click on "My Products & Services." Here you will find a list of accounts that you have with us. Next to the account you wish to cancel, select the "View Details" button. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and select the "Request Cancellation" button. You can choose to cancel the account right away, or at the end of the billing cycle.

The second procedure that has been streamlined is account upgrades/downgrades. This can now be done from the same screen as the account cancelations described above. Simple press the “Upgrade/Downgrade Package" and select the product you wish to upgrade/downgrade to. Please be aware that this will not work to upgrade from a normal Shared account to a Business, VPS, or Dedicated Server. You will still need to contact us to perform that upgrade since it involves moving to another server.

There are a number of new features available within WHMCS, and we encourage you to explore our new portal and give us feedback on our forums. (http://forums.asmallorange.com) Should you have any problems or encounter any bugs, please feel free to email us at billing@asmallorange.com.

Sincerely,
A Small Orange Software

P.S. You are receiving this email because you have an active account with A Small Orange. If you believe you have received this email in error, please contact us directly to discuss your account.
