So what discounts do the new affiliate links provide?
No discounts this time, just standard affiliate links.
So what incentive is there for someone to click the link, other than trying to get the referrer something? What does the referrer make out of this?

Currently there is no incentive for users to click on the link, much like any other affiliate program. If you were previously an asorefer customer, you still have your coupon codes you can offer on top of the affiliate link. But using the coupon without an affiliate link will not net the affiliate any incentive.

The current payout for affiliate signups are equal to amount of the signup. So if someone signs up for a Tiny account using your affiliate link, you will receive a $2.50 credit. (The use of coupons does not affect the amount of the payout, so even if they use a coupon for 15% off, you would still get the full $2.50 credit)

Again, it will be going back to the old style, client-generated coupon codes. But that requires additional development time and it is not ready currently.

So coupon codes /do/ work? I'm confused. Can you start from the beginning and speak slowly with small words :)

@Randy: Here's how I understand it.
1] Old coupon URL's will continue to work for a period of time. These codes provided discounts to people who clicked on them. If you want to keep using the old coupon URLs you need to add your affiliate code to the URL.

2] The new affiliate code URLs do not provide discounts to people who click them. This is a possibility for the future.

3] The new affiliate code URLs pay out to the owner of the affiliate code an amount equal to what the clicker of the URL spends at ASO.

Of course I could be further obfuscating the matter, but c'est la vie :)

True, but they are initiated from 'button URL's' -- that's what I was referring to.

Using either the new affiliate LINKS or the old ASORefer LINKS will grant a commission for their respective account holders.

Using old ASORefer COUPON CODES will NOT grant a commission to their respective account holders. However, the COUPON CODES will still grant the purchaser a discount ($5 off or 5% off)

Hope this helps?

I have hit a huge glitch.
My login credentials no longer work, either at customers.asmallorgange.com or at the SupportSuite. Obviously, my login does work here in the forums. My billing login DID work Friday, when I checked to see whether my hosting renewal invoice had been posted yet. Now, today, my login does not work. I'd really like to pay my bill. Honest! ;)

thanks,
Jim C

So now, instead of making money from referrals, I'm just giving away discounts? That's not right :D Must plan and make sure that I get my referrals...oh, and see what the new billing system is like in case I actually need to pay for something now :D
The more information you provide, the better answer the community can give.

Same here, Jim, although I did get the Support part of the site to work but not the Client Area. I contacted support and they sent me an email saying it works for them. I wrote back and said, "Cool! Maybe you could pay bill then." They asked me to try a password reset. I did, but I never received the email with the reset. They told me, "Maybe you've got filters stopping it." Of course, I don't. And of course, they sent that email (which I got) to the same email address they thought had filter problems.

I figure they'll fix this before they dump me for not paying my bill. Although that would be very funny if they did.

If the new billing system won't accept your previous login information, click the "Request a Password Reset" link and follow the standard email-based reset procedure.  If you didn't receive the reset email, check your spam folder.  If you can't find the reset email in your spam folder, then you should probably submit a ticket to the billing department.

Just tried to update my details in the new system and it kept giving me the error that my phone number was invalid.
I had to take out the '+' of the international dialing code just to change my email address on file  :/

I emailed billing@ and told them about my problem. Amanda re-set my password and I was able to log-in once more and pay my bill. I then reset my password to something I preferred. I also had the "1+" issue with my phone number on the CC payment screen causing a rejection. I have no idea how that got added to my phone number.

I had a slight moment of confusion when I went to pay. I was given the options of check, PayPal, or something called Authorize.net. Nothing about credit cards. Authorize.net didn't sound familiar, but I went ahead and went down that route. Turns out it's ASO's CC gateway. They really should just have that option marked as "Credit Card". Authorize.net is meaningless.

But, everything is good now.

Much better! Thanks for clearing that up, Frank :)

Although, I can't log into ASORefer to look up my coupon codes :\

ASORefer is completely disabled. I do not want people using it to generate more coupon codes that will not work :)

Anyone else having trouble logging into the new system? Yesterday I changed my password via the Forgot your Password link and was able to successfuly login to the billing area - but today when I went to log in it wouldn’t accept the password that I'd picked after the reset. So I figured I'd just use the form to request a new one but I keep getting this message : No client account was found with the email address you entered. Is this something I should contact support about? Or is the system down for everyone?

I didn't have any trouble logging in just now.  You should definitely submit a ticket to the billing department.

Just a heads up: The affiliate links seem to redirect to the ASO home page, rather than a sign up page.
