Ok, so I have my working space in Photoshop set to Adobe RGB 1998. I am slicing an image up so that I may build a website from, when I notice that some colors shift dramatically brighter once I choose Save For Web & Devices! I thought that since the colors I used to build the image were pulled from Pantone Process Uncoated that maybe that was the problem, so I decided to use ONLY colors from the Web swatch library...
Needless to say, the colors are still shifting brighter even though I am using "Web" colors and working within an RGB profile! Any help? Thanks.
Web safe colors not so safe!

I use the standard RGB settings (America general purpose 2) and i've never had a problem with it
are you using an 8 it RGB channel, if not that may cause some problems when exporting for html.
and what extension are you using to save them (gif png / jpg)?

Does "web safe" really matter these days? AFAIK they're a relic of the olden days of the Internet when you couldn't guarantee that everyone was running 24/32-bit monitors. These days you're unlikely to see anything else (possibly 16-bit, but that won't dither too much).

I'm saving them as jpegs. And the palette I'm using is the same one as shown on that Wiki.

I found out why the colors were shifting!
Next to the Preset option, there's a sneaky little arrow...click it and uncheck "Convert to sRGB." (Note: From what I can tell, this is only the default setting in CS3)
