Ok, I can't get smtp to work to save my life. So let me ask if the info I am assuming is correct.
pop server - mail.mydomain
smtpserver - mail..mydomain

smpt requires authentication.
pop port 110
smtp port 25

usernamer - username@mydonain

is all this right, because using those settings I can't get smtp to connect
QUOTE

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.phlatline.org (1)', Server: 'mail.phlatline.org', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

It is all right except for the username which should be username+yourdomain.com, and I would assume that you just made a typo there, because there should only be one "." after mail in the mail.mydomain.com for smtp.IF that doesn't fix the problem reply to this post.

Hope This Helps,
Mitch

Does mail.phlatline.org resolve for you?

Telnet connected fine through port 110 but port 25 (smtp) would not connect

Perhaps your ISP blocks external SMTP? A lot of ISPs do that. You may have to configure your email client to use your ISP's mail servers for sending.

Edit: Actually, that is definitely the problem. CableOne blocks external SMTP.

Just in case you're compiling a list for reference, so does Bell Sympatico.

Thank you, I am contacting them now to see if I can have port 25 unlocked on my account.
